Auditorium Policies

  • There is absolutely no food or drink allowed in the auditorium seating area. There is also no food allowed on stage, control room, band room, or in the scene shop. However, water is allowed backstage but not on black wooden surface. There is no smoking allowed anywhere in or on school property. IT IS THE CLIENT’S RESPONSIBILITY TO POLICE THIS.

  • All vehicles are to be parked in the main lot at the front of the school. The area behind the auditorium is for loading and unloading only. This is a clearly marked Fire Lane area monitored by the Flat Rock Police Department.

  • Due to heightened security, exterior doors are not to be propped open.

  • Any tape or substance (rosin, hairspray, tack, etc.) applied to the stage floor must be removed/cleaned completely by the client before exiting the facility on the last day of your rental period. At that time, an inspection will take place by the Auditorium Manager or Technical Director.

  • If a Flat Rock School event is scheduled during your rental period, you are expected to make necessary adjustments.

  • You are not to take down or relocate any curtains without permission.

  • The Auditorium Administrator must approve any theatrical props, which could be considered as a weapon, before their use.

  • You are not to move, adjust, or change the pit covers or acoustical shell.

  • You are expected to leave the facility “as you found it.” However, general custodial services (sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, etc.) are included in your rental fee. It is required (by contract) that a custodian be on duty during your entire rental period.

  • All audio/visual and lighting equipment and controls are only to be operated by trained Auditorium personnel.

  • You will provide any and all consumable or otherwise items such as lighting gels, wood, hardware, etc. You will also provide your own props, sets, tools, etc. You are not to use any tools (power or otherwise), supplies, and equipment owned by Flat Rock Schools.

  • An inspection will take place before, during, and after your rental. You will be responsible for any and all damage caused by your organization.

  • No alterations are to be made to existing electrical and mechanical systems.

  • Lighting and sound control systems are only to be used with the direct supervision of qualified Flat Rock Schools personnel.

  • If applicable or requested, you will provide proof of insurance and performance rights.

  • You are expected to inform your group or anyone working with you of the rules and regulations listed above.
